Plans and billing

Every workspace is on a plan. Free is for trying Rostack with a small team, Plus is the whole product, Max is Plus with five times every quota, and Custom is agreed with us. A plan belongs to one workspace, is priced per workspace, and never counts staff once it is paid.

What Free leaves out

Free tracks up to 10 staff and shows 7 days of history, with 10 sessions a month and 50 rank changes a day through the API. It does not include Robux payouts, recurring payroll, Discord notices or your own name and accent colour, and these parts of the product open only on Plus and Max:

  • Quotas
  • Payouts
  • Payroll
  • Handbook
  • Promotions
  • Conduct
  • Reconciliation

Choosing a plan

Only the workspace owner can choose, change or cancel its plan. They do it on the workspace's Upgrade page, which the plan button at the foot of the dashboard sidebar opens, or in the workspace's Settings, under Billing. Anyone with a seat can open the Upgrade page to see the plans and where the workspace stands against its limits; only the owner sees the buttons that pay.

Choosing Plus or Max opens Stripe's checkout, and card details are typed into Stripe, never into Rostack. The plan changes when Stripe confirms the payment, usually within a few seconds. Coming back to the page does not change it by itself, so the page looks again shortly after you return.

Changing and cancelling

Once a workspace pays, Manage billing opens Stripe's customer portal. There the owner can switch between Plus and Max, with Stripe adjusting the charge for the rest of the month; update the card; download receipts and invoices; or cancel. A cancelled plan stays on until the end of the month already paid for, and the workspace moves to Free after that. A workspace that already pays is always sent to the portal to change plan, never to a second checkout, so it cannot end up paying twice.

If a payment fails

Stripe tries the card again over the following days, the plan stays on meanwhile, and the dashboard says so. If the payment still cannot be collected, the workspace moves to Free, and nothing is deleted.

At a limit

An action that would take a workspace past a limit is refused with a message naming the limit, and nothing already recorded is touched. The Upgrade page shows each allowance, how much of it is used and what the next plan up allows, and a meter turns amber at 80 per cent.

LimitWhen it is reached
Staff trackedNobody new is tracked past it. Everyone already tracked stays. Paid plans never count staff.
HistoryActivity, the audit log and past sessions show only the plan's window. Older records are kept, not deleted.
Sessions a monthA session past the month's allowance is refused. The count starts again on the first of the month (UTC).
API rank changes a dayRefused with 429 quota_exceeded until midnight UTC. See the Ranking API.
API keysA new key is refused until one is revoked. Revoked keys do not count.
Robux paid out a monthA run that would take the month past it is refused whole, never trimmed.
Payout schedulesA new schedule is refused until one is deleted.

Moving to a smaller plan

Moving to a smaller plan never deletes anything. What the new plan does not include is kept and waits:

On the smaller planWhat happens
Payout schedulesPause at their next run instead of paying.
Parts of the product the plan leaves outLock, with everything set up in them kept. They open again on a plan that includes them.
Discord notices, your own name and accent colourStop, and start again on a plan that includes them.
StaffEveryone already tracked stays. Nobody new is tracked past the smaller plan's limit.
HistoryRecords past the plan's window (7 days on Free) are kept and hidden, and come back on a plan that shows them.

Plus pays out up to 50,000 Robux a month and Max up to 250,000, so a group that outgrows Plus keeps everything it set up when it moves to Max, and the reverse.

Custom plans and refunds

A group that needs more than Max can agree a Custom plan, with quotas set to what it needs and billing arranged with it: write to support@rostack.app with the workspace's name. Consumers in the EU and the UK can withdraw from a paid plan within 14 days of first subscribing, for a full refund, and the terms set out exactly how refunds work.
